The main page at the Casey’s Wood Products website has been updated. It is mostly lighthouses with some miniature lobster buoys and boats. Lots of nice lighthouse cutouts or turnings to look thru. That lobster boat in two pictures is this chunky cutout, it’s a nice one.

Another garden marker idea…
While perusing Instagram, I came across this picture by brookesedwards. She used what looks to be a jumbo wood craft stick. It’s not as robust as the wood garden row marker I mentioned in an earlier blog post but will do the job at a lower price. It’s up to you which one you prefer.
The jumbo wood craft stick is regularly stocked so you never have to worry about us stopping selling them. The wood garden row marker, however, when it’s gone, it’s truly gone! It’s not a regular stocked item because it is a random item from second quality bulk wood we buy from wood mills – rejects, basically. Most were of good second quality, some are sold as firewood to locals in Wiscasset, Maine.
Planting your garden?
If you’re planting your garden and want to clearly label each row… Then this garden row marker might be for you! It’s 9″ long by 1/2″ wide and 1/4″ thick. There’s a chisel point at one end so it goes into the ground more easily. Use a black marker to write the label. You can paint it every year and re-label it!
Using wood ball beads to hide electric cables…
Came across this in Instagram and thought it was interesting. It is by diyabstract or jennyshusochhem (possibly orginal poster) in Instagram.
The wood ball beads in the picture are either unfinished or has a clear varnish on it. You could paint these ball beads in different colors if you want…
How to paint your peg dolls by Spunneys
Here’s a good article by Spunnys in France on how to paint peg dolls. Interestingly, Spunnys sells spun cotton people pegs. The painting process are the same for wood people pegs. It’s important to spend more on better paints. Also, don’t forget that if your painted peg doll turns out badly… just repaint the whole thing one solid color then start all over again! Practice makes perfect.
