I found this video by CraftyRenate to be really interesting. Paint or dye is very common but not foil.  So take a look then try it with your wood eggs!

  1. Thanks Casey it took me a while to realize I had to click the word video to get the right one. I wonder if you could also use tissue and modpodge. Great ideas though I appreciate it.
